  • I really would like to give the players NAMES. If you haven't guessed it, not many videos feature the young guys... but if you want to remain hidden from view, by all means, ignore the opportunity.

  • The Institute Challenge is a battle between the State Institutes of Sport. Because of the swine flu scare, The NSW and SA institutes dropped out and were replaced by the VSSSA (Vic U19 Schoolboys State Team) and the AFS (Australian Football Skool), The irony was that the AFS were told they would be outclassed yet won all 3 matches and won the tournament.

  • The VSSSA is the Victorian Schoolboys State Team. It is U19. These players are selected as the best in the state, under the proviso that they still atend school.

  • The 6 Australian States each have an Institute Of Sport.

Selection is supposedly made up of the best talent available. (There is always a debate whether they have selected the most talented players available, but they are undoubtedly very good players.) The Challenge is their fight-off, but the Swine Flu meant a couple dropped out and the U18 AFS filled in to complete the group fixture. The AFS were expected to lose and be completely outclassed, but instead won all their matches.

  • what is the Institute Challenge?
