This is sorta pro Brooke & Lucas... in a different way!
Lucas has hurt Brooke too many times and she doesn't want him anymore. Lucas starts to date Peyton to try and make Brooke jealous but realises she is over him and happy with Chase. Because of this Lucas settles for dating Peyton because he can't have Brooke. No matter what happens though Lucas is plagued by memories of Brooke and their time together. Peyton knows or suspects on some level that Lucas isn't in love with her and that he still loves Brooke but she doesn't say anything because she loves him and hopes one day he'll grow to love her back.
Lucas can see Brooke is happy with her new life and with Chase, even though it hurts him a lot that he's not a part of her new life he realises that Brooke's happiness is all he's ever really wanted... he's just hurt he didn't realise this sooner because they could have been together.
Now he realises it's over between them and they won't be get back together, so he settles for Peyton.
Ok it kinda made me sad not to have a total brucas reunion ending but it really didn't fit with the story. Also i think that it's kinda true that Lucas settled for dating Peyton after Brooke broke up with him.
When I was looking at a lot of the old Brucas scenes they reminded me of some of the *gag* new Leyton scenes! Especially the ones at the end.
i still believe brucas will previal!

Love this song. I'm pro Brooke and Lucus too. Even though Peyton is my favorite I prefer her with jake.
