Could you suggest a better sampler? (Preferably one that works with sibelius? :D)
-
Try using an audio card with better latency, this will fix the problem..and remember the mac is picky with its audio interfaces...in fact I was using a presonus firebox and got these issues...changed to an apogee duet...NO ISSUES

No.. Just 32-bit Ultimate. I installed this on a spare hard drive, but I do not use it after I found it doesn't perform correctly with Kontakt. I had another machine that was running Vista 64-bit, Quad Core, but I never tried it since I absolutely knew Kontakt was not compatible... yet.
I like Vista, but just like when XP first came out, it has a lot of "growing up to do" still to become a better OS. I'd stick with XP for a while. It's a solid Operating System for music production.

stop that spam you fucking moron -.-

Do you have a 64-bit Vista? I read somewhere that Kontakt 3 is not yet fully 64-bit and NI is going to make an update that makes Kontakt to support 64-bit... maybe that's why? Well, I don't really know because I have an old 32-bit XP computer... I have no experience with Vista and I'm NEVER going to buy it. Never.

I have this exact problem when I try and run it on a machine running Vista, either standalone, or integrated into Acid Pro 6. I absolutely cannot get it to sound correctly on any of my machines running Vista. It sounded choppy, like here in this video, or sound really distorted. So... I scabbed together a computer exclusively to run this soft-synth, (it runs Windows XP. NI claims that Kontakt 3 is compatible with Vista... and Macsm too, but I thinks it's just a fluke!

For me, my Kontakt 3 runs quite fine even with single-core AMD processor (it's a PC version)... and my computer was bought in August 2005...
Maybe there is something in the Mac version - or then your computer is crap.

Kontakt 3 is full of problems right now on my Mac. The problem I have atm is whenever I load a aif or wav in a custom instrument the sound that comes out is of horrible quality. I've been trying to figure out if there is an hidden filter somewhere that cuts off all the basses, or some default compression enabled, but it seems that it just sounds like crap no matter what. Kontakt 2 was much better, beside the crash when you dragged a wav or aif in.

You are doing something wrong. Kontakt 3 is one of the best samplers out there in terms of control and sound set. I have Dual 2Ghz PPC I can load up to 10 instrumnets in Multimode, and play them fine. Check your buffer settings.

No I am NOT doing anything wrong. I am seeing the problems on other CPU's like mine. My buffer settings are set to what the NI Mac Specialist recommended. You should read the text in video I posted - I promise you that you wont be able play ONE SINGLE NOTE - without glitches if you load 10 VSL instr. and leave the default setting of Convolution reverb.
Prove what you are saying by uploading a video that is done LIVE and not cut.

ok, IT IS ABLE TO BE FIXED! I bought it, and had that problem, but I found a solution. All you do is go to File/ Audio and Midi Setting, and just increase the Output Latency...

Yeah - but if you are a good musician increasing the out latency to more than 10ms will make the delay mess up the timing if monitoring at the same time... I cannot play like that and I know many who cant either...

NI - are really bad at making musical software. Their ideas a great but the production is the worst in the industry.
My advice to everyone is to stay clear of NI - especially if you dont wanna hear the record company say something like this: " ehhh - nice song, but come back when you have changed this and that" and after you have walked out the door they be like "ahhhh - finally the idiot left, we've had it with weekend producers and their cheap sounding software"
