Starting the MTD Yardmachines Snowblower after 2 years. It has a 5.5 Tecumseh Engine. It took a little bit, but it started.

  • I'm suprised that it ran that well after sitting that long. I have an '06 Troy Bilt/MTD blower with the 8.5HP Tecumseh and made the mistake of letting it sit all summer with gas in it. The carb was all gummed up at the first snow of the season.

  • I was really surprised too, but it starts everytime.

  • hey bud do your self a favor change the oil if you have not done so already!!

  • Its always done that since new. Oil has been changed. The choke tens to do that too.

  • I always shut the gas off and run it until it sputters then apply the choke it runs a little more then it turns off.

  • it always amazes me that people dont prepare there machines for long term storage and then they call them shit if they dont start
