Well, I gave a shot yesterday and it failed miserably. I browned the meat (turkey) and then added everything at once. I set the temp on low and let it cook for 6 hours. The beans were fine, but it came out more like turkey and beans. Barely any liquid. Which surprised me. Usually in a slow cooker, I do not have that problem. I probably should have waited for your reply before making this. haha. Thanks anyway for your suggestions. I will give it another shot in a month or so.

Thanks for the reply. Have you tried this recipe in a slow cooker? If so, what variations did you make if any or how well did it turn out?

@HellyaNation Certainly you could try it. I would first brown the meat and onions & garlic in a saute pan on the stove, then add all ingredients to the slow cooker, except beans and worcestershire sauce. Those I would add about half way through so the beans warm nicely, but don't turn to mush. Let me know how it turns out!

I was wondering, what if it would effect the recipe if I used red kidney beans instead of white? I'm not a fan of white kidney beans.

@HellyaNation Yeah, you can use whatever type of beans in this recipe that you like...the more variation the better! Black beans, red beans, or pinto beans work too.
