They once did a reunion with Noel McCalla and played the "St Albans Jazz Festival". Which was basically 3 gigs in the City Hall/Alban Arena. Barbara Thompson's Paraphernalia and Andy Shepherd were the other two gigs - think I had a season ticket! Was a privilege to see Dick's quartet playing at Herts Jazz in my local a few years before he died, and his Soulililoquy album remains one of my favourites.
One of the best Jazz funk bands ever- saw them in Cambridge at some place I cant remeber the name of - Noel McCalla was singing lead with Tessa Niles on backing!
They had a guest keyboard player who was blind but absolutely brilliant!
its called " Ol' sax and captain axe ...from the "its about time " LP it was also a 7"and 12" single
superb stuff takes me right back to the half moon in Putney in the 80s Morrissey Mullen played every Tuesday night for years

@nunu1958 Look up Pete Jacobsen on Youtube. He was awesome. Played with the Bobby Wellins quartet for years. Died in 2002.
