A lot of people fullfill their lives, so they don't have to face the desperation of silence...

Clarissa: Richard, its a party, its only a party. Populated entirely by people who respect and admire you.

Richard: Ah, small party, is it? Select party, is it?

Clarissa: Your friends.

Richard: I thought I lost all my friends. I thought I drove my friends crazy!

Clarissa: Jesus

Richard: Oh, Mss Dalloway, always giving parties to cover the silence

Clarissa: Richard, you wont need to do anything, all you have to do is appear, sit on the sofa, and I will be there. This is a group of people who want to tell you your work is going to live!

Richard: .oh is it? Is my work going to live? I cant go trough with it, Clarissa.

Clarissa: Oh, why do you say that?

Richard: I cant!

Clarissa: Why!?

Richard: Because I wanted to be a writer, thats all.

Clarissa: So?

Richard: I wanted to write about it all. Everything that happens in a moment, the way the flowers looked when you carried them in your arms, this towel how it smells, how it feels, this thread!... all our feelings, yours an mine, the history of it, who we once were, everything in the world, everything and all mixed up, like its all mixed up now. And I failed.

I failed; no matter what you start with, it ends up being so much less. Sheer fucking pride, and stupidity. (pause) We want everything, dont we?

Thank you; that's very sweet of you and it inspired to write, what a wonderful journey...I think we are all related by our human fragility, after all. Read the book when you are happy and optimistic; trust me. You'll love it!

Would you mind if I emailed you my poems? I'd be delighted if you'd read them and give me your opinion.
