  • SI was a friend of of mine. I could never work for him though. He treated his guys like crap. Yet he had a GREAT book! Funny guy to hang out with socially! I prefer my former boss Buddy Morrow...

We did several Big Band cruises together with myself singing with the TDO led by Buddy Morrow. Si's EGO was bigger than the S. S. Norway! He got an honorary Doctorate and had it written on his Bandfronts "The Dr. Si Zentner Orchestra"! LOL!

  • Hi Walt,

I do have an album of yours with Buddy Morrow, great stuff, really enjoy your vocals, how is the big band scene in the states, I hear that the current Glenn Miller Orchestra are flat out with work, how does that compare with the current Dorsey Orchestra.

    Stay in Touch

    Colin

  • If your going to perform in a big band trombone section, lead or otherwise, you need to learn from the master. Even today Si's lead and section work have, and continue to set the standard.

  • playmobil o.0

  • Was this a famous song of his?

  • O SOM de Si Zentner parecia ser de outro mundo, simplesmente F e no m e nal... E seus arranjos, meu Deus(My God) beautiful, extraordinary!!!!!!

  • Lindo som e otima interpretação.

  • Ask Pandora Radio, they will play it for you,and you go

    from there.... Good taste,good luck.

  • Saw Si Zentner's band live at the Hollywood Pallalladium in ' 62. Great

  • I've been looking for "Up A Lazy River" by Si Zentner for years, I can't find it anywhere, I would like to find a copy also. I don't understand why one of the best versions of that song is so hard to find.

  • Does anyone have a copy of Si and the band doing Up A Lazy River?

  • YES! I did see it! Nice clip. I've been off the Dorsey Band since 2003... Buddy is now 90...The TDO doesn't work much and using various singers depending on where the jobs are....Well, I can proudly say I am the singer to be with The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra LONGER than ANY other singer. '88-'03. 15 years was enough with the dates dwindling...
