Corine Armstrong - I Can Feel The Lightning Strike

This is my new favourite record. The track is absolutely brand new, less than two weeks old, and is coming out on my utterly fabulous exciting new album called "Northern Soul 2007", which will be released in September, on Centre City Records, distributed by Expansion Records and Passion Music. The new album, which I'm still frantically trying to finish, consists of over twenty brand new 2007 songs by soul and disco legends, including Leee John, Gee Morris, The Flirtations, Voices With Soul, Ebony Alleyne, Noel McKoy, and lots of others. Each song has an accompanying video of the artist basically performing it the studio and in outside locations. Because a lot of my fans on MySpace and YouTube have been begging me to do this, I decided to get up and make it happen, so there will be a giveaway DVD with the CD showing the same twenty-some songs, all being performed in the same running order as the CD. As long as it's ready, it'll be in the shops and online in September. My fabulous new discovery, the spitfire called Corine Armstrong, was brought to me by my wonderfully talented friend, Noel McKoy, who thought she'd be a perfect new discovery for this oh so important album. She has previously gone under the name of Nazarene. Nazarene is a neo-street singer/songwriter/producer from North West London. Nazarene has a unique voice and vocal range and she is currently performing original song material with her 5 piece live band in and around London as well as writing for other artists. Her influences stem from reggae, ska, soul, lovers rock, rare groove and jazz. Nazarene successfully completed a performing arts degree course at Wac performing arts and Media college in July 2005, currently her main focus is to perform and promote her music and continue to secure publishing contracts to release songs she has written. The second she opened her mouth, I was sold. A cross between Stephanie Mills and Rocq-E Harrell, which caused me to write this 100 miles per hour stormer that I just love to bits. I LOVE IT!!! I absolutely love it. Having had the pleasure to actually been sitting there in the studio with Ian on May 24th when this young beauty stepped into the microphone booth and opened her mouth, we were blasted away immediately. She was just the right match for this infectuous, stomping piece of Northern Soul! You go, girl!!!
