Pastor Christopher A. Wimberly is a native of Winder, Georgia. He was born on April 19, 1977 to Deacon Robert and Rachel Wimberly. Pastor Wimberly resides in the Metro Atlanta area of with his wife, Felicia and their daughter Jahri Toombs.
The Ministry
He was called by God to preach His Word at the age of 19. He was licensed to preach on April 20, 1997, under the leadership of Pastor Alfred Hazel at White Oaks Springs Baptist Church in Winder. As a member, he served as musician for the Senior and Youth Adult Choirs, and as the Youth Minister.
It became clear that God's hand was upon the ministry of this young man's life. He has traveled the country from the East coast to the West coast spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is the spiritual son of Bishop Joseph W. Walker III, Senior Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Matriculation
In 1995, he graduated from Barrow High School in Winder, Georgia. Pastor Wimberly continued his education at Gainesville College in Gainesville, Georgia where he majored in religion. Pastor Wimberly graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia and received a Bachelor's of Science in Religion degree. He also attended Beulah Heights Bible College in Atlanta, Georgia where he was the recipient of the Paul A. Anderson Scholarship
The Entrepreneur
Pastor Wimberly, stepped out on faith to become the owner of Greenlee Funeral Home, located in Gainesville, Georgia. It has been renamed to Wimberly & Jackson Funeral Home.
The Pastor
Christopher A. Wimberly was called to pastor St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Hartsville, Tennessee the 1st Sunday of November 1999. In June 2004, He was called to lead the Hunter Hill First Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. As the congregation's twelfth pastor, he is taking the "church beyond the walls" by providing a vision to evangelize, enlighten, embrace, encourage, equip, empower and exalt the people of God. Pastor Wimberly is truly a man of God leading the people of God to do the will of God.
