for your knowledge, before interpolating and try to understand the persian poems, first you should know who was the poet of that poem, then with understanding of the poet philosephy, you can understand the lyrics better.
Khayam was a great mathematician, philosepher and usually his lyrics are very short compare to other poets... they called robayiaat. He was not religious or lover poet and most of his lyrics is based on denying religion...
clay in his poems means death
-
NO, this words are from Khyam and what khayam is saying in this poem means, this clay pot was once a lover and his handle is made from soil of hand of lover...
it just mean this life is very short, and before we die we should enjoy our life
in general means, this world is mortal and we all gonna die one day, so chear up in life and enjoy each moment of it...

A TRUE MASTERPIECE!
THE BEST SONG OF THE ALBUM IN MY HUMBLE OPINION
-
@salvadoreyln ...Like I mentioned above, the beginning of the song is roughly translated to this:
This clay pot like a lover once in heat, a lock of hair his senses did defeat
The handle that has made its bottleneck its own seat, was once the embrace of a lover that entreat
I could be wrong, but to me it's the words of someone in love who sees signs everywhere and everything--even in a clay pot.

@bellydelight I don't know, but the beginning of the song is roughly translated to this:
