@elgostine Armor and two-handed weapons would have to count for a lot more for greatswords to be truly effective in larp setting. As it is, two-handed weapons deal double damage, but as foam weapons don't weigh all that much, a blow from a two-handed weapon can be turned aside or blocked just as easily as one from a one-handed. :)

interestin to notice around 6:45 that the greatswordsmn dont get very far. which is what is predicted would happen if zweihander men tried to breach a pike block.

This is just really cool, looks like alot of fun to watch you guys pull it off real well ^_^

@bunnygopoke You can't, really. In some of the more intense battles, it often comes down to whether or not you 'think' you're still alive. Of course, the level of honesty varies from person to person, but it also depends on the mindset of the individual regiments. The officers make a point of giving compliments and resolving disagreements between units after the battle have been fought.

@bunnygopoke Honour and trust are very important in Danish (and Scandinavian) LARP. A different culture, with different values... ;-)

how can you even tell if you get hit in the mess of everything? and even if u got hit, how does the trust system work, just hope that people will be honest?

wtf... is going... on... here... dude... :O
How are you all staying so organized?

Honestly.. Really awesome work there, love it
I'm curious, are there any long term penalties to death? Because if there was it would allow morale to have a better effect, encouraging troops to flee if things turn grim. Also to what extent are commanders allowed to make plans? Could for example the defender in this scenario have sent a company of men across the river to hide and then launch a rear charge once the battle had been joined?

@arabiancowofdeath There is no penalty since this is a "wargame". You are bank for next battle.
The commanders had the tactical control, but the organizers had desided where to fight.
(not that is allways worked out that way) In this case, the defenders where more limited, because of the cannon and groundcharges. But the only order they had from the organizes (me) was "don't push them into the warter" That was understod as "dont move forward at all" So thats why the defenders are very passive.
