"The Lying Kind" by Anthony Neilson at TheatreWorks New Milford, New Milford, CT. December 1 to 31, 2006. Constables Blunt and Gobbel have the unfortunate task of informing poor old Balthazar Connor and his wife, Garson, that their daughter has been killed on the motorway on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, neither of these Laurel and Hardy-types have the heart (or the courage) to tell them.
In this scene, it becomes clear that the Balthazar and Garson Connor think that the 2 constables have arrived to inform them about their dead dog...not their daughter. Gobbel gets this info from Balthazar but Blunt is in the toilet and it takes his thick head a few minutes to figure out what's really going on.
Directed by Rich Pettibone. Featuring Keir Hansen as Gobbel, Tom Libonate as Blunt, John Taylor as Balthazar, Jane Farnol as Garson, Jonathan Ross/Rich Pettibone as Rev. Shandy, Maggie King/Samantha Tuzzolo as Carol, Beth Bonnabeau as Gronya, and Paula Anderson/Beth Harvison as "Carol."
