Shadow of the Colossus - Trick video

I decided to try making a SotC trick video. I worked for few hours to make this video so the result isn't as good as I could get. All video material is from my other videos except 4 battles (#2, #5, #12, #15) which I took from Rapu1's SpeedRun video. I couldn't find one of my DVD where could have been few more tricks, so pretty much all tricks is known for ages.

Anyway, try to enjoy for this video. :D

It requires to use certain path which requires some practice and exact timing to get it succeed. I used the following youtube video to get some practice. IMO, this isn't even one of the hardest trick to perform. The hand launches at the end of the stage are totally different story.

No problem. If you want any more tips don't hesitate to ask. Also, some of these tricks may be harder to perform on NTSC version on PS2 or on the PS3 version of the game.

I didn't suffer from any riding part of the game. Usually you can locate the Colossus within 5 minutes if you use the sword as a compass and won't go wrong directions often. There's couple of riding parts where you can get lost easily. If it tooks more than 30 minutes I suggest people to look at locating Colossus guide. You can see really great looking views most of the time. IMO this is the best game on PS2 system.

PS: There's 16 Colossus, not 13. ;p

For your information; Ari Taitto, the speedrunner, is my brother. I gave him tips and we figured together how to do certain tricks in his speedrun. I personally think that I'm the better SotC player since I've been playing NTA mode for years when my brother didn't play the game so much.

You can't kill 11th Colossus by one jump stab (unless you have Queen's Sword which is impossible in TA mode). Ideal way to kill it is to do one full stab and jump stab (which is quite risky to do).

Swim at the location where it comes to surface. Sometimes you can get top of it, sometimes you're too slow or miss a chance to get top of it. If that happens, retry. Okay, that one may be a bit tricky. First, you must lure the Colossus. When he sees you, keep swimming towards the starting point. The key to this trick is to find a right spot to stop. When it's second antenna is going to underwater, you must jump and do a jump stab in the water. In USA version of the game, I've found out that easiest way to do this is hitting R1+Square twice. If you're at the right spot and the right time, the Colossus movement changes and it pops to surface a bit further.
