The theory proposes that the universe is an engine designed for the production and conservation of Novelty. Novelty, in this context, can be thought of as newness, or extropy... when "novelty" is graphed over time, a fractal waveform known as simply the timewave results. The graph shows at what time periods, but never at what locations, novelty increases or decreases... The graph of extropy had many enormous fluctuations over the last 25,000 years, but amazingly, hit an asymptote at exactly December 21, 2012... In other words, entropy (or habituation) no longer exists after that date. It is impossible to define that state.

Scientific institutions, just like other old-schooled habit-preserving structures are sometimes utterly useless and a hindrance. Yet, the scientific methodology is in the heart of his thinking. Create an hypothesis, extrapolate predictions and conduct an experiment providing merit to your hypothesis.

This new way of philosophizing is what propelled our specifies from the dark ages and into utube..

He advocated altered states of consciousness as a tool, experiment and a birthright.

T.M was a world class genius, and he put a lot of time into his novel (meta) work.

Yet, all of my questions are still here, a year later. Unanswered.

Would you be so kind as to provide a link to the future novelty graph?

I wanne see next week please.

  • @JTickett Ayhuasca is not LSA.....it is the more powerful Dimethyltriptamine or DMT.

  • @tehmushroom well, I think he made a connection between the numbers which were prominent in the I-Ching (such as the number 64 which is also the number of codones in the DNA helix....along with many other #'s) and the physical laws of the Universe, conciousness and the nature of time. I think Novelty theory was meant to be supported by Timewave Zero.

  • @superdiza actually the date he originally arrived at was in November. About a month before the december mayan date. When he discovered the mayan date was so close he just decided to adjust it. Again, his "theory" is not scientific. The timewave was made to support his theory about novelty in the Universe and on Earth. The scientific process, as I see it, is painfully slow and clumsy. When dealing with the topics McKenna did, the scientific process becomes utterly useless and a hinderance.

  • @superdiza I don't know if you realize the amount of work he put into this and how he was able to articulate it with speech. He had been working on this theory since 1971 and by the time he died was able to relate it in simple, yet eloquent, terms to lay people. Something science is unable and unwilling to do.

And he did project the graph until late 2012. The graph doesn't track or predict future events. It just indicates a level of "novelty" relative to a time frame.

  • It appears that YOU don't know your history of Earth. Else, you would realize that the earth changes, in geological time, in short and intense bursts at different points throughout it's history. Obviously, you are incapable of imagining anything outside of the objective, peer reviewed scientific world. You will be in for a pleasant surprise come 2012.
