President Obama's special video message for all those celebrating Nowruz, or "New Day." This year, the President wanted to send a special message to the people and government of Iran, acknowledging the strain in our relations over the last few decades. After committing his administration to a future of honest and respectful diplomacy, he addresses Iran's leaders directly. (this video is public domain)

@IranHistory You are truthful in your statements & all of those acts are despicable & inexcusable. Many American administrations have engaged in bloody, imperial actions, but please know that Americans are mostly either unaware of it because of poor education, believe the propaganda of news media, or are ashamed of it. I fall into the last category & I wish no ill will on any other nations or people. Our government has failed its people with poor foreign and domestic policy.

@romelior : I was fair: The US (CIA) overthrew a democratically elected government in Iran (Mosadegh) for oil; The US shot an Iranian passenger with families and children on board and then decorated the Navy officers who engaged in these murders ; The US has funded groups like PJAK and PMOI who have killed thousands of ordinary Iranian citizens (PMOI assisted Saddam in his attempt to invade Iran & used chemical weapons against civilians with US help). The US has an untrustworthy record.
