yeah, until the 12th century when Islamic countries were influenced by al-Ghazali, where he claimed that mathematics was of the devil... then they took the long journey to the shithole that is the middle east today

Yeah, the Muslims messed up. It was mainly due to infighting between local rulers instead of remaining an iron fist together. When the Arab Muslims were united they seemed poised to take all of Europe. But they disintegrated into bickering fools in Spain and didn't finish the momentum.
Although it seems that Islamic Spain will return in some fashion, seeing that Islam is the fastest growing religion in Spain, with 4% of the population Muslim.

@TheAntoninusPius I like your comments , you look at things without being biased and i agree there were negative things in muslim spain too. I'm a muslim i just admire the architecture the Muslims left behind in spain. its no point in crying over the past.

Also, keep in mind that Muslims themselves were fighting among each other in Spain, and were disunited, which greatly helped Europeans. For all the culture, many people forget that Muslim Spain also had cruelty, with severed heads hanging around on the main city gates of Cordoba, and there were rivalries between Berbers and Arabs. Do not forget also there was racial prejudice against native population too! I mean no offense, what I'm saying is that there gray shades, and not simply black white!

And another thing: When Muslim Spain existed Muslim world for the most part did not pay attention to it! Main ruling dynasty in Spain in it's golden age were Umayyyads, which were not liked very much, and were synonym with corrupt government! I MEAN NO OFFENSE TO MUSLIMS, BUT MUSLIMS THEMSELVES ALSO HAVE TO SHARE THE GUILT FOR WHAT HAPPENED! IF MUSLIMS AT LEAST BOTHERED TO SEND AN ARMY, MAYBE ANDALUSIA WAS STILL IN EXISTENCE, BUT MUSLIMS IN THE 1400'S DID NEXT TO NOTHING.

yes the spanish have the right to defend themselves also arab world now have the right to defend themselvs from foreign occupation(we the palestinian have the right to defend our country from the jewish)
