Audacity does offer a spectrum analysis tool, but it's difficult to handle and may show inaccurate results...

in order to get the most precise graph, you should set it to the highest resolution, with log frequency view and rectangular window, and stretch the window as far as it will go

this should put emphasis on the lower frequencies, making it easier to make more precise adjustments

@RFCmorgan you can perform the task with Audacity, which is a freeware audio editor

if you know the concert pitch of the song, you can use the effect called Change Pitch to shift the pitch from one frequency to another...but applying this effect will cause artefacts to the audio, so i would rather use it to determine the value of difference in percentage, and then apply this number to the Change Speed effect, which will be -1.818181 if the concert pitch is 440 hz

very interesting, this has blown my mind. do you know if and how i would be able to change the music i like to listen to from 440hz to 432hz. is there be any software for this? i'm struggling to grasp this concept of all this lol, how would i even know which is 440hz and what is 432hz?
