Please do not travel out side the us to have surgery. These physicans are not Board Certified. If something should not be done correctly you have no ramification. The US state department will not come to your aid. The US FDA has no Jursidiction in Mexico. Our physicians at our hospital have repaired several bad surgeries don't out side US borders. Just something to thing about.

@kabrightbill I travelled to Mexicali, Mexico and had the Gastric Sleeve done. Of course I had hesitations and realistically things can go wrong....One thing I found leary is when I went I could not obtain medical insurance for anything that might go wrong. I took a chance. Things worked out well for me and I would do it again in a heart beat. Thanks for your view as some may need to weigh such when making their decision. :)

@kabrightbill I had my gastric sleeve done on 12-5-11 in Tijuana ,Mexico. I have lost 60 lbs already and had a wonderful experience in Mexico. The doctors and hospital staff were complete professionals and the doctor who performed surgery on me has more experience with this type of surgery than many US doctors combined. All Drs in Mex have to be board certified in Mexico only, which they are, why would they get certified here if they don't work here? Most even speak English.

@kabrightbill i am from canada and am going to mexico, best thing to do is RESEARCH your doctor! yes there are lots of butchers all over. there is an 8 year waiting list where i live for bariatric surgery and they don't do sleeves so this is why i am choosing to go out of my country.
