hey for some reason i can't get the 'firm update' option to appear even after turning it on in play mode. anything else wrong with it?
-
I can't get this to work on the Powershot SD1200 IS. Do you have any advice on this particular model?
-
@oneilltheitguy what part didn't work?
-
@azopene The only think I can think of is that the code writers for CHDK updated the code with a newer version because this doesn't happen for me. Would you be able to document your problem with a video or still picture slide show and upload as a video response? Maybe there is a bug that needs to be worked out? Maybe you can help them find a solution?

@DoubleSnapProduction Thanks! I can tell you are a video editor yourself. And you are correct. Out of all my videos I spent the most time working on this one because there are so many detailed steps. One mistake will prevent the whole thing from working. Thanks for watching!

@BigNate84 Hi, I installed CHDK and it worked for a while. Now when I select alt it starts ok but when I press the shutter I get a rolling text in the lower left of the screen that says 'This is the default script. Scripts run when the shutter is pressed in ALT mode. Press shutter to exit.' But the only thing the shutter does is to start and stop the message. I can't take any images in CHDK mode. I do have access to all the menus tho. Any ideas? I'm on Beta code 1.00l. Cheers.

@MegaDevastated It sounds like your experiencing the same problem as @azopene who commented below. What camera are you using? I suspect there is a bug that needs to be fixed. However a possible solution could be to load a script. For example the countdown intervalometer script. Even if you don't plan to take a time lapse sequence you can run the script and set it to take 1 picture instead of a series of many. See if it runs smoothly.

@BigNate84 It's an SX40 HS. I'm sure it didn't do this before when I loaded CHDK but now it auto loads the basic script and runs it when I press the shutter. I confess I'm new to Canon and CHDK and misunderstood the way CHDK is used. I thought you either used the camera in CHDK mode or 'standard' mode. But there is only one mode; you just use CHDK to modify the parameters that you want to change. I'm not sure I explained that very well! But I think I now know how it works. Thx for your help.

@MegaDevastated No worries my friend. CHDK takes a little while to get the hang of. Its not exactly user friendly. Good luck.
