When did I, a Black woman become the Enemy

Divide and conquer still livin large. I refuse to allow willie lynch to define me. The "Lynch" letters use internalized racism and sexism to keep us diss-empowered.

It is a way to control us, to get us to become our own perpetrators, but is not who we are. The willie lynch letters uses sexism to divide us as a race, and take the focus off the true system of oppression that controls this us - classism.

What is internalized racism? It is what happens when a targeted group begins to believe decades of racist miss-information and miss-behavior about their own racial group.

Individually - When I begin to believe my Blackness makes me lazy, Horney, unkept, stupid, dishonest, conniving, dull, loud, lackadaisical and greedy, unlovable.

As a group - Internalized oppression is when I began to believe the miss-information about other Black people. When I find myself ashamed of, embarrassed by my people it is most likely my internalized racism/ oppression operating. When I get angry at, criticize, berate, target my people doing something I would not think twice about seeing a non Black person doing - it is internalized racism.

My holding my people, my children to a different standard of behavior is my internalized oppression.

Internalized oppression is a normal and human reaction to oppression. EVERY target group struggles with not believing the miss-information the dominant culture perpetrates against it. It is a way to make sense out of a illogical system of oppression. But it is not who we are. It's a behavior, it is not our true core or values.

Internalized oppression is what keeps the dominant culture in power without them even having to come into contact with the targeted population.

holy crap lady when did you ever experience the true effects of these lynch papers. were you alive in the 1700's. quit looking to be the victim. these papers aren't the reason why most blacks act out or seem to have problems, its your inability to want do anything for yourselves. i understand racism is alive today and exists in many forms- but to say that the willie lynch papers are the reason for problems today within your own race is plain ignorant. this problem come from ill prepared parents

Ill prepared parents come in all colors. No national child care programs, parent education, lack of health care for children and their parents, internalized and external racism, classism are the key. Odd that you call them "bad boyz" yet have no expectation or demands on them to change - just the girls. And ALL women arent opening hteir legs to "bad boyz". And "decent men" go for white women. "Decent" Black woman are not even on their radar. Men want trophies, not women.
