That was my experience 6 months ago (Kubuntu) - I just fresh installed with Ubuntu and it had no problem with the broadcom drivers. Pleasant surprise, to say the least :)

which wlan card do you have? broadcom is a tough one on linux ;)

Try to run compiz like this:"SKIP_CHECKS=yes compiz --replace ccp &" and see if it works. You will probably have some issues with video playback though.

You can also unblacklist x3100(965gm) on compiz:
1) ALT + F2
2) gksudo gedit /usr/bin/compiz
3) Add a [#] in front of [T="$T 8086:2982 8086:2992 8086:29a2 8086:2a02 8086:2a12" # intel 965]
This will unblacklist our video card on compiz, but XV won't work.
To change video playback to unnaccelerated:
1) ALT + F2
2) gksudo gstreamer-properties
3) Under video, select X11 instead of XV for output

r u shure? Ubuntu has a pretty descent support for wlans with most recent kernels... Ur wlan must be pretty old, but I am shure if u google on it you will find the answer to your problems! :D Chears!
