The Hunt Family performing "Orange Blossom Special" at the Centennial Rodeo Opry in OKC's Historic Stockyards City on the August 16th, 2008
The fiddle tune "Orange Blossom Special", about the passenger train of the same name, by Ervin Rouse and Robert Russell "Chubby" Wise was composed in 1938. The composer that is credited is solely Rouse, as Wise supposedly rejected credit, saying there was no money in fiddle tunes. The original recording was created by Ervin and Gordon Rouse in 1939. It has been called the best known fiddle tune of the twentieth century.
