kinda of unexpected. Before I got back to the hotel room I was close to the Oklahoma City Memorial so I picked up my camera and went for a little walk.As I turned the corner of 4th street and saw the black massive wall signifing the entrance to where The Federal Building once stood, I really had now idea what this memorial looked like so I started taking pictures and the first thing you see as you enter is the reflection pool its only less than an inch deep black stone underneath the water,..really stunning,...The basement walls of the original building are partially still there and make up half of the perimeter around the memorial,..again a true reminder of the realness of it all and I have to say is it effected me ,.the whole thing walking around ,..seeing the seats that represent the men, women and children that died that day, the fenced area marked as the "childrens playground",..the construction fence ,do you remember the fence with all the stuff on it ,pictures, notes ,..teddy bears,..its still there they poured it into the concrete sidewalk and all the stuff is still on it ,..felt kinda of like a punch in the gut. I love it when I go somewhere that in my head didnt seem that big of a deal and when I get there its amazing, thoughtful, sad, happy, mad, and beautiful all at the same time.In the words of a great man .."Thats all I got to say about that."
