jeez that backfired on Rudd big time, Abbott nailed it....

Abbott owned Krudd. Lizzard owned him too. Now Aussies must toss the Kruddites and Lizzards out of government and let Abbott fix our economy, unless they are brain dead.

@ShowsOn The size of the debt that was paid off by the Howard/Costello Govt was a direct result of the incapability of the Labor Govts to actually run a budget. We are now in debt for the next 101 years. Pretty good governing huh.

blah, blah, blah, Mr Speaker, blah, blah, blah, Mr Speaker.
i can't believe that half of australia wants a labour government when they are sending aus into massive debt. Looks like i'm smarter than half the country.

@Clone3037 Australia has the lowest debt in the OECD. Our debt is lower now than during the first 6 years of the Howard government. It is lower now than at any time during the period 1945 to 1986.

@ShowsOn That was probably because they were paying off the debt left behind the Labour Government before the election that got Howard in

@Clone3037 And how did they pay more than half of it if off? By selling Telstra, thus making it a private monopoly, thus handing the country's telecommunications policy over to a private company. It is hilarious that people worry so much about debt when nearly every school, hospital, road, and power station in Australia was built using debt. The entire Snowy Hydro scheme, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the Sydney Opera House were all funded using debt.

@ShowsOn That's cause Howard was cleaning up the shit that the previous gov left. he came on top and now this bitchy gov stuffed it all up again.

@kickdawson You mean like in 1983 when the new Labor government had to start paying back the debt created by the Fraser Coalition government, including when John Howard was the treasurer?
