How to upgrade your Dell Axim X50/X50v to Windows Mobile 5.0

This tutorial teaches you how to update your Dell Axim X50 or X50v to Windows Mobile 5.0!

I am NOT sure if this will work with Dell Axim X50's with 416MHz, no Wi-Fi, PERFORM THE UPDATE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! ALL DELL AXIM'S NO LONGER HAVE WARRENTY. If you happen to brick your Axim, refer to this forum post:

You might get some system stability issues on your Axim once you perform the update, hard reset the device immediatly after the Dell logo finishes. To hard reset, press the Power+Wireless+Reset buttons together, then push the Contacts button when the message shows up, or Message button to cancel.

@cul8errr 'Veesta' or considered as Windows Vista.

As of now, I know of no way to upgrade the x50v without the cradle, sorry. I will look into it.

@thelighthalzen307 Nopers. I do not know how to alternativly upgrade a X50v to WM5 because I dont have a ROM of WM5.0 of it.

I can confirm it works on the X50 416 MHz with no Wifi. Works, although the screen alinement screen is somewhat slow, but it seems to be fine other than that. Haven't reset yet so I don't know if that is just from the 1st run.

@MrSteelyRevolution4 Grab a rom and flash program throw it on an sd card 1gb or less, soft reset your device hold the proper keys to get it to boot off the sd boot and flash the rom.
