@MrFrank440 i'm so glad you found out the reason behind the behavior, most often we cannot. some doys including mirrors are for the very reason not allowed in my bird's cage.

@ATouchOfMagic88 You are correct. I took him to the vet and he is a healthy 8 year old who was nesting and feeding one of his toys. I removed the toy and within a day he was back to normal. Thank you for responding. Peace

how mutch does a blue throated macaw go for?

Hi, I have a 8 year old blue and gold macaw which I have had for 6 years. Up till now I was able to do anything with him. For the past week he has been acting like I am a stranger trying to bite me and he does not want to leave his cage. He eats and drinks normal but has stopped talking. Can this aggression come from him becoming sexually mature and wanting a mate and do you think this behavior will pass?
