  • I have no idea who Judy Collins is. I've heard a few versions of this song (who hasn't? lol!) and this is definitely one of my top favourites - but of course!

I do have that 'be thou my vision' vid somewhere, but I can't upload it again... wasn't one of my faves tbh

  • Regardless of whether of not that's meant to be funny, those comments are completely unnecessary.

  • Lovely voice, but the incessant vibrato is very distracting.

  • Maybe, but he's so awesome we let him off for that.

  • This is definitely my favourite version of this song.

  • When was it?

  • Can't remember the exact date, but I think it was 2003.

  • Michael was not a trained singer. He majored in drama, but got into musical theatre by accident. He is mostly working with the voice that God gave him.

  • @chadboy0 MN not a classical singer, certainly not an opera singer wannabe or otherwise lol!! This video is a few years old now. I think MB did go through a period of time when his vibrato got away from him but he has got it more under control of late.

  • Speaking of vibrato... could someone who knows more about singing than I do explain it to me. Is it because his voice is trained to project on stage, so he has trouble singing a slow song such as this one? It is very distracting. I have one of his CDs on which he sings pop tunes. Perhaps he sings things he doesn't really have the range for? Teach me & Thanks =)

  • this is very strange. I can't believe that he would be doing this vibrato on purpose.

  • When those with accents sing, their accents seem to disappear. Michael Ball is one of my favourite Musical theatre singers. thanks for sharing

  • His vibrato may be excessive at times.. but he's so cute, I'll give him a pass.

  • Absolutely amazing - wish my dad was still around to appreciate this

  • @deusregnat I agree, I honestly don't know why he is putting in that false vibrato. This is something I don't like in a lot of classical singers these days: they put vibrato into everything to make it "better", when in fact all they do is ruin it. The voice has a natural vibrato, you don't need to add to it. bloody opera singer wannabes
