  • 1918-1920? there was no real war, as far as i know.

  • from whom? from those who owned you for many years: swedes, germans. were they gratious and polite to ests at that time? hahahah!

  • true, afther notrhet war 1700-1721

But know the war in 1918-1920 alsou.

  • Protection from who? Are you suggesting that without Russian occupiers, Estonia would not be a country, but a collective of tribes?

  • you are trying to escape answering my question. future estonians were taken into russian state by force and in competition with sweeds and german knights. there were no estonians at that time. as far as i know, there were a few different tribes of finnish-ugor origin. so, formation of estonian nation of those tribes, development of its sel-identification and a culture, etc have happened in russian empire. of course, estonians did it all, not russians. but under protection of Russia.

  • Perhaps the borders were drawn by Russian imperialists, but the people were there before the borders were. Even if it wasn't known as Estonia for centuries, the Estonians were there.

Russia did not create Estonians. That's hogwash.

  • please, just answer me the question if ests as a nation has formed under umbrella of russian empire or not?

  • The people of what is now known as Estonia did not a chose to become subjects of the Russian yoke. They were forced by violence from the Russians (or other ethnic group) to serve as a vassal nation. Unfortunately, even if this was going on for centuries, it still does not negate people's right to self-determination.

  • lol. you are not aware of the history of your own country or just trying to avoid going deeper into the history. as far as i know, estonia was part of russia for centuries. it was called differently, i just do not remember exactly. maybe Estland? or something like that. from time to time other countries took the reign over the region from russia such as sweden, germany. in fact, ests as a nation and future state has formed in russian empire, under its umbrella. is it true?

  • see my post to WaiSech.
