I knew that my first time rappelling was inevitable. I had been climbing too many things without the proper safety equipment to not have seen all of the signs, you know; trees, boulders, walls, buildings, caves and such. But as a general rule I had adopted the policy never to climb anything higher than the distance I wouldn't want to fall from -- approximately 1 and a half times my height. But when you begin to have dreams of you climbing up summits and there aren't any real challenges occurring in your life, Sometimes you have to push yourself to take a leap of faith. Ironically for me that means learning how to use the proper techniques first in a controlled environment before I go hitting up the happy trails. So I'm proud to admit that this experience was as much about my journey inward as well as the ones I hope to accomplish outside of myself. I'm just glad that I had some incredible friends to guide me along the way. So thanks guys for all supporting me as I took my first plunge
