Written and recorded by Jeff Lake on octave mandolin.
In praise of Dorset. Spectacular coast, ancient tumuli, smugglers' tales. My song is about a timeless spirit, timelessly watching over the land of south Dorset and recording the historic events that have left their mark on the landscape. Dragons refer to dinosaur footprints. The snakes of stone are ammonites, elven shots are belemnites. The " chariots" of today are the tanks which train on the slopes of Bindon Hill.

  • Very nice song. What make is your Octave Mandola? It has a good tone for vocal accompaniment.
