COMMENT, RATE AND SUB BECAUSE I PUT MYSELF IN DANGER FOR YOU :-) Also tell me what you think about the riots!

***PLEASE READ***
I will state that when we got hit by tear gas, it was thrown at rioters-NOT US. Unfortunately, wind is a bitch and blew it as us. We were never in danger nor did anyone, police or rioter target us or was even rude to us! Lets just hope it all ends soon for everyones sake and that no one gets hurt again.

  • @tsimos4eva Also the "riots" wreaked financial devastation to store-owners in downtown Athens. Even before the "riots" the mayor of Athens neglected systematically certain parts of the city where real estate prices plummeted. In these areas immobiles were bought for a dime by politicians. And the so called "rioters" (unwillingly?)contributed to the real estate prices plummeting even more. After the 2009, 2010 and 2011 "riots" and the crisis the city centre is financially practically dead.

  • @tsimos4eva No,my friend. In my opinion it was a first even for greek standards. The riots were targeted for the first time primarily against stores instead of state buildings. The number and ferocity of the so called rioters was the worst up to that date. And so called rioters are used by the state/police ever since to prevent and/or taint massive peaceful and utterly justified demonstrations. This method was used again in 2010 (Marfin-murders) and in 2011 at Syntagma Square.

  • Too bad you guys visited Athens during the 2008 riots... But I guess you would encounter riots in the city center at any given time... :P The syntagma square has been the battlefield between the rioters and the riot police since the beggining of time. The 08 riots were different from the rest though. Usually the uproar rises due to incidents of political corruption (we've got plenty of it) but in this case a cop had killed a young boy. Next thing you know, there's chaos everywhere.

  • @TheDailyMonk nope man! i was there 2 weeks straight and it was awesome...!!!!!!!

do something good for your country!!

    kill a cop!!

  • now that's what i call tourism!

  • @NaMilameTwra You are referring to victims of terrorism(with the exception of Doujon Zammit).I guess you didn't know that Mallios was an infamous torturer of EAT-ESA(=the greek Military police during the dictatorship, which had assumed the duties of inland security as well). And you forgot to mention the only innocent bystander killed by terrorism(mainly"17th November"):Athanassios AXARLIAN. :

    1)Don't use copy-paste uncontrollably.

    2)Terrorism=Police brutality.Did I get your point right?
