I have spent most of today listening to Malian music, thus came across his performance with Oumou Sangare. It strikes me that he draws heavily on African traditions in his banjo style. This is good, considering that the banjo actually orginated in West Africa. The man is brilliant and drawing from such a broad frame of referrence adds to his appeal.

God he's talented....that may not be the right word for it....but WOW! I've been a big fan of the Flecktones for about 15 years and he just continues to amaze me....

BTW, this is the title track from Throw Down Your Heart. Both the CD and this title track have been nominated for Grammies.
