Hindraf lawyers declare Bukit Gasing temple 'open'

The Sivan Temple atop Bukit Gasing in Petaling Jaya is now open to the public. So declared two former leaders of the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) who had once been detained under the Internal Security Act.

The duo - DAP's Kota Alam Shah assemblyperson M Manoharan and Human Rights Party secretary-general P Uthayakumar - called on all Hindu devotees and everyone to come back to the temple.

"It is safe... the landslide more than two years was not caused by the temple," Uthayakumar said at the temple compound yesterday.

no problem with others faith. gasing hill should be preserved for public recreation. no mosque, temple, church or luxurious bungalows or high rise building should be errected there. unfortunately all these legal rights are just good at destroying bukit gasing. surely the authorities are to be blamed for their nil forsight.

@wongcampong this temple is NOT newly being erected.been around for decades!CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE WORK!! nobody is stopping u frm going there "FOR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES"! lotsa ppl still come around n hang out there!ALL RACES OF ALL FAITH.nobody is destroying any forest!its built on the gazetted land!! if u're worried bout the forest, stop the rich n famous from building houses in that area. i wonder if that means "destroying forest" to u still?I THINK U JZ HAVE PROBLEM WITH PPL OF OTHA FAITH

not only any head of department has the bloody right to close a place of worship belonging to anyone. in this world.

we are living in aworld multi-cultural.religious,,ling­ual.and so on. so please be more so considerate and justice to people of all races. i feel all the politicians must take internatiol law,humanities,psychology,econ­omics to be in polotics to look after people with pure peaceful.justified ways and without bias.
