Ottawa Police punch and choke drunk man Canada Day 2010

Ottawa police struggle to arrest a man on Canada Day 2010. The man appears to be resisting but is not combative. Police use punches to the face and choke hold to subdue him. Police will justify punches and knee strikes by saying they are to "distract" a person who will not submit to being put into handcuffs. Why not take a bit of time with this guy instead of smashing him in the face? Why aren't police trained to deescalate? Instead they go straight to physical force. Happy Canada Day!

Dude, NEVER disobey a police officer. When he says to put your hands behind your back you do it. If you don't, than you are resisting arrest and when resisting arrest, a police officer is entitled to do WHATEVER he has to to get you cuffed.
