@MatthewHudghton Brother, I was just studying in Oxford, England and was so disturbed at the state of society/church. It was so spiritually dry, and I felt that more as I prayed. What made me sad was it hit me that the U.S. is headed down the same exact road....

@PureGraceEvangelism Beware of taking the verses of the bible you want to choose and leave out the rest.The bible speaks about the fear of the Lord as a good thing.
Philippians 2:12 - work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
2 Corinthians 5:11 - Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men
Psalms 147:11 - The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy
Proverbs 3:7 - Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

@jewyjewington Know that I think about it, when I was saved, I was first afraid of what was going to happen to me in hell. Then God told me, "I have saved you with my perfect Son." Then I rejoiced, then I thought, "God... died... for me? Why? I did nothing!" And I began to weep at my disgusting life behind me. I was truly amazed at my amount of tears.

The gospel does indeed liberate and does remove every fear...however
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge..." Prov 1:7
"The fear of the LORD is he beginning of wisdom..." Prov 9:10

Maybe I misunderstood your comment, but...if I have no fear of God in my heart, why would I be interested by His Grace?

lol brain washed, that's an easy way to dismiss any point of view. Here in england the majority of people are atheists and the school systems are secular. Tell me, are the children being brain washed into that?
