This was my final video project for my Video I course taken Spring 2006 semester. It was my first video course ever, and the first time I'd edited a compilation of any kind.
The main idea behind this video is my mom's claim that my singing voice arose directly from my crying every single day of my life until age 11 [sad, but true]. My father happened to be very interested in capturing home videos, so my entire life is very basically captured onto video tapes that sit around in a large box--thus, enabling me to attempt to make a video that transitions from crying to singing.
I call it an experiment because I basically worked with my intuition to select and get some kind of flow going between the hours of video tape that i watched. Had I taken more time to edit it and really think through my edits I'd probably nix the "experiment" part of the name.
I didn't upload this until now, because I usually have a hard time watching myself sing and this video turned out to be such a personal thing for me that I didn't want to have it online for all to see. I've changed quite a bit since this was made so I've changed my mind about it.
