In June 2011 a reunion dinner took place in Peebles to celebrate rugby in the South of Scotland. There's a rich history in the Scottish Borders and nearly 50 former South players got together - some who played in the 1950s - for a night to remember. Memories were exchanged among everyone and some of Bill McLaren's rare commentaries were played out featuring South games against Australia and New Zealand in 1979, 1984 and 1993. It was certainly a night of nostalgia and legends including Bryan Redpath, Peter Dods and John Jeffrey talked about their pride in playing for the South team and wearing the famous red and white jersey as well as the tie which is only given to players who were selected for the South. In this short film produced for Borders Rugby Television you'll see highlights from those three South games as well as footage from the Dinner. All proceeds went to the Bill McLaren Foundation and footage of matches are courtesy of BBC TV.
