What is Jihad?

A Jihad is an expression Westerners take to mean an Islamic declared "Holy War." Though the word Jihad itself merely means striving. It is often used to mean an inner striving to rid one from debased actions in order to achieve a higher moral standard.

Military action, therefore, is not always the equivalent of Jihad.

Islamic men who die during battle in a military Jihad against Unbelievers are typically guaranteed immediate entrance into the Gardens of Eden. A much better life than they now have.

In addition, they are enticed with promises of immediate access to virgins for themselves, and often for their family also.

Young, idealistic, Islamic men are recruited through religious indoctrination and taught that they will not go though the judgment if they die fighting the Unbelievers. Terrorist acts are committed by young men willing to work and give their lives to obey the divine command to war and die fighting against these Unbelievers.

Many people get misled by how the west describes jihad. It's not even close to "Holy War". Go read about the true meaning of Jihad, and make sure it's a trustworthy, neutral source.
