Zseniális felvétel, nagyon jó a tempója, Kocsis félelmetes, ahogy a legnehezebb technikai akadályokon is könnyedén átgördül. Bartók műve a zongorairodalom gyöngyszeme, zakatoló, nyugtalan, vad ritmusával azonnal magával ragadja a hallgatót. Egyszóval a zeneszerző és a zongorista egyaránt ZSENIÁLIS! Éljen Bartók Béla

Fiery indeed and very exciting. Actually I prefer it a bit slower so that the amazing counterpoint is clearer. But Kocsis really understands Bartok. I have loved this concerto for over 50 years. The second movement with its nightmusic style is my favourite. The concerto was written in the magical year of 1926 - the year of the sonata and the Out of Doors suite. It is fiendishly difficult to play. Thanks for posting and including the score.

I would like to hear also the other movements (don't put the scores if you don't want to!)
Thank you!!! :)

@PieroBolzano Okay, I'll post those tomorrow. I must note that the thing I disliked about the first two movements was the music itself; Kocsis performs amazingly of course, he's one of today's leading Bartók players.

@madlovba3 Wow, thank you!
Yes, sometimes Bartòk isn't so easy to listen...
And Kocsis is great!!!

@PieroBolzano Agreed :) I like many pieces by Bartók - as a Hungarian, I really enjoy the Hungarian flavour of his works - but some of his music uses the piano just too percussively, and piano is more than hammers hitting strings. Kocsis, who recorded the complete Bartók, digs out as much from this music as possible. I love the Piano Sonata with him - a video I posted earlier - and as a matter a fact, I'm gonna post that piece again, but now with Argerich, another fabulous performer of it!
