A legend on the British Folk Music Scene, John Joyce, along with Cyril Davis, pioneered the 12 string guitar in the UK. Blues was his first love and he appeared with such greats as Howling Wolf,Jesse Fuller, Reverend Gary Davis,Sonny Terry & Brownie McGee. John's playing a 'one off' Harmony Stella 12 string, made for a trade show in the 60's, but not released on sale, shame about that, as it's got a great sound. Sadly,in February 2004, John passed away.

  • Thank you for sharing this video! I had the great privilege to know JJ, back in the early '90s. My first job out of school, at 15, was working at Hands Guitars in Kingston. John used to pop in once a week to do repairs (he set up all my guitars at the time). He was a rare beast in musician circles, always happy to impart wisdom but never patronising (even to an arrogant little snot-nose like me). A lovely bloke, sorely missed.

  • can you send me the tabs pls ?:)) i realy like this

    :D

  • Can you post a link to the Tabs rather than us handing out our email address?

  • HUGE nose, HUGE amount of talent.

  • Thanks so much for the tabs, my friend! Forgive my ignorance though...do the tabs explain all the intricate picking that you're doing?
