Mary's POV:
We sat down by the fire place. It was slowly getting late, and everything around us went black. The fire was the only thing lightening up our faces.
"Would you mind passing me a marshmellow?" Cari asked me.
I reached out for a marshmellow and handed it to her. I help the stick with the marshmellow at the end, above the fire.
"What are they doing here?" Sam whispered.
"They obviously invited themselves." I shrugged.
"Hm, I'll take that handsome one there." She said and pointed at the oldest of the brothers.
"Take him. I'll take him." I said and pointed at Luke.
"Oh, he's cute."
"What are you girls whispering about?" An old lady, Mrs Bloom, asked us with her weak smile.
I smiled innocent. "Nothing, Mrs. Bloom."
"Mary dear, I told you. Call me Grandma."
"But you're not my grandma.."
She just smiled. I'm not sure she heard me.
I shrugged.
"Mm, this marshmellow is delicious." Luke said while dipping it in chocolate.
I frowned. "Whoa, hold it there fella. We others needs some chocolate too." I slightly smiled.
He smiled, eating his marshmellow, getting it all over his face. We all laughed.
Luke's POV:
It was a great night. I learned some of the neighbors better to know, but there was only special girl, who was so hard to read. Mary.
"So it's Samantha and Caridee. Why come you only be named Mary? Not Marilyn or something." I asked Mary.
She shrugged. "I wish I could say 'ask my dad', but he's dead, so.."
For one second, I just wanted to throw my arms around her. "Oh, I'm sorry."
"Don't be." She smiled a little.
We were walking over the field, around 2 am. It was all black, we only had an oil lamp in our hands. I leaned in, trying to kiss her.
She pulled away. "S-sorry, I can't do this." She said, and leaved.
I watched her leave, realizing that I might have gone a little too fast. "Good job, Lucas." I said to myself and walked home.

That night, I sat my the lake. I was thinking about my Mom. How she left me and my brothers.

"Promise you'll take good care of your brothers." She said, kissing Jacob's forhead, with tears streaming down her face.
"Mamma, where are you going?" I asked her, with my little pitched voice.
She held my hands and kneeled down. "We're going to play hide and seek, okay? I'll hide, you three seek." She stood up.
"But mamma, why are you crying?" I inqured.
She ignored me. "Turn around, and start counting. Count to 100." She smiled weakly.
She kissed our forheads and hugged us tightly, before she told us to turn around as begin counting. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5--" I started, but turned around, since I couldn't hear her running. "Mamma-"
She looked at me for a second, right before she jumped off the bridge, and landed in the lake. The deep, dark blue lake.
"MAMMA!" I sreamed.

I pinched my eyes, biting my tears hard together. She just left us like that. I know she was going through pain, since my Dad left her for some slut. But she had no right to kill herself right in front of us. I was six. Six years old.
"Yo Luke, are you coming?" Joshua asked me from our house.
I winked away the tears and entered our house.
"Are you okay man?" He inqured.
I ignored him, and walked directly to my room.
Mary's POV:
I was brushing Isabelle the next morning, when I heard someone talk from outside. I layed the brush and walked out. I hided behind my truck, seeing Cari and Luke talking.
"I don't think she would like that." Cari said.
"Well, can you please ask her?"
"No."
"Please?"
"Why are you even interested in her? She would never even date you." Cari said.
I frowned.
"How do you know that? Have you asked her?" Luke asked.
"N-n.."
"Exactly. So you better ask her."
She bit her bottom lip, leaned in and crashed her lips against his. And all of sudden, they were making out.
My raised my eyebrows. That was defintly not what I wanted to see. I even heard Cari moan. Gross. I felt a certain pain in my heart, but I ignored it, and ran away. Just my luck, I fell over a rock and landed in a mudhole. "UGH!" I screamed.
Luke and Cari obviously heard. Cari quickly leaved, while Luke helped me up. "Are you allright?" He asked.
I shook my head at him. "Just leave. Get the shit out of this farm! I never want to see you here, ever again!" I said and ran away.
