Papantonio: Republicans for Rape

30 Republicans voted against a measure put for by Senator Al Franken that would have ended contracts for companies who deny their employees the right to a jury hearing if they are sexually assaulted, as happened with Jamie Leigh Jones from Halliburton. Apparently their campaign contributions mean more than the health and safety of women working for these companies. Mike Papantonio calls out these "Republicans for Rape" in this week's Pap Attack.

This was horse shit....Franken tacked this on to try and get it squeezed through because he knew it wasn't popular with the DOD. The Department of Defense opposed it and that's why republicans voted against the bill.  It prohibits contractors who have employment arbitration agreements with their employees from being paid for the work they have done for the military. In fact, the Obama Defense Department opposed the amendment. Totally taken out of context and lies purpetrated on the video.

As to the video, this tactic is sooo tired and weak...The republicans don't have a voice in government anyway, and the dumocrats have all the majorities and the Whitehouse to pass and legislate whatever crazy bullshit they want. Yet they still complain! LOL

This bill was not about rape, as you are lead to believe, it was voting against the House/Senate fiscal year 2010 defense authorization bill — because it contains hate crimes provisions designed to protect gays and lesbians.
