On Wednesday, May 16, at 4 p.m., CST, an Internet audience on OR-Live.com will have a rare chance to watch a heart care procedure as it happens. During a live webcast from Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin, Marshfield Clinic interventional cardiologists will perform a live cardiac catheterization procedure as well as a possible angioplasty and stent placement. A physician moderator will be on hand to walk the audience through the procedure and give them the inside scoop on the crucial decisions the heart care team is making as they happen.

  • @Sherri119 why was you put to this procedure, i mean what was your diagnostic?

  • I had this done this week. It literally saved my life. It's not painful. For those that are going to have this done, please put your mind at ease. It's not a horrible or even scary thing. You feel so good afterwards too. You have energy you didn't know you'd had....because it'd been slowly drained from you as your artery has slowly closed. This procedure is heaven sent. I am so thankful for it and for my fantastic doctor.

  • NIce that the artery tolerates this stretch. Of course, one wonders why it doesn't stretch with all that blood pressure without the stent...now, if there is some heart damage, one wonders just what proteins, enzymes, etc. would be good to be eating to help rebuild the heart, or course with exercise, etc. One also wonders what keeps the stent in position...once again, with all that blood pressure....Plus one more thing...what about the time that the balloon cuts off the flow?

  • This procedure is heaven sent. There is no pain, just some sornes after its over. I have had this procedure done seven times. Its keeping me here. God bless the men and weman who do this procedure for a living.

  • i have had this done 3yrs ago and i am going to have another done on monday i was scared to death the first time but do not dread it this time it is nothing like i thought and it didn' t hurt i worried for nothing

  • i am scared to pieces, mine will be done in the morning.does it hurt alot?

  • I just had mine yesterday! It was awesome!!! The dye felt good cuz the table was cold. I had mine done age 23...i was surrounded by older people all around me. I didnt need a stent though I was clean. The clamp is a doozie afterwards tho.

  • One year since my operation and I'm stronger and better than I have been, in a long while. Kudos to Omaha Nebraska.

  • I did mine Monday. I am happy this can be done. I am still nervous about reclogging though.
