Patricia Mawuli is not only Ghana's first woman pilot, she's also an accomplished engineer, assembling and building the airplanes she flies. A Reuters Africa Journal portrait by Isaac Kpelle and Donna Omulo.

  • Though we admire her accomplishments & achievements, being the 1st female to obtain a Ghana National Pilots' Licence does not necessarily make her Ghana's first woman pilot. The Ghana Air Force trained women air crew back in the late 60's & 70's and even had a female pilot in 3 Sqn in the 2000. Lets not forget the Miss Ghana who went on to train as a pilot in SA after walking away from an air crash at KIA which killed 7 people. I admire Patricia, but this is not exactly accurate reporting.

  • This is how flying should be, a real cottage industry. Unfortunately in America or Europe, bodies such as the FAA have completely ruined it.

  • Patricia is a real genius. She's made many women in Ghana and Africa proud and all I want to say is more grease to ur elbow and God help u to achieve greater heights. Ayekoo!!!!

  • Good job my sister mawuli
