The following is an outtake from Joe Berlinger's movie Crude. In this scene, plaintiffs' lead U.S. lawyer Steve Donziger and Atossa Soltani (founder and director of Amazon Watch) discuss the need for the court to appoint an expert to assess damage costs. Donizger, after referencing David Russell's $6 billion damage estimate, (an estimate that Mr. Russell has since disavowed as being, "too high by a substantial margin, perhaps by a factor of ten or more.") Donziger goes on to state that "[Remediation] would cost less than that—significantly less than that, you know?" The plaintiffs' representatives have since revised their damage estimates to exceed $113 billion. View more outtakes at YouTube.com/TexacoEcuador.
