  • Hi, treelobber here.got in touch with you a few days ago, and thanks for the speedy reply.I am doing well with "god only knows"Lot of work involved...phewww.I am from South Wales,U K, after i complete the song i want to put together a video for family in Vancouver B C. would you know what format i need to convert to, in order for them to play it on dvd in Canada?Hope you can help. Thanks my friend.

  • @treelobber -- A DVD Authoring program will convert your video to mp2 before burning the disk. I believe "Flicker" is a free authoring program you can download.

  • by the way, how long did it take you to go from start to finish (and I don't mean that visual thing at the end - just the music)?

  • I worked on it an hour or two a day for a couple weeks. So, it probably took me about 20 hours. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Exelent Job, I really enjoyed it very much thank you... Have you done any experimenting with VST?

    -Dave

  • Haven't tried the VST effects yet. Hope to get around to it soon. Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it! Steve

  • are you telling me i could have been doing more with my free audacity than just convert my vinyls to mp3? dammit.

  • I only use Audacity to produce a voice soundtrack with bed music for video but this presentation has given me an appreciation of what can be done with Audacity and I've made it a favourite so that I can use it as a reference tool. I'll also be enjoying the performance. Congratulations to both you and your wife. You are not only a great technician but you both sing very well.

  • @kevinwayne50 -- I have Windows XP on a Dell XPS desktop that's 3 or 4 years old. A Pentium (R) D?? CPU , 2.8 GHz, and 2 GB of RAM. Thanks for listening!

  • thanks for this great tutorial. I've just recorded voice and guitar at the same time with audacity...what an eye and ear opener..i loved the finished song as well..kinda like Rod Stewart becomes a sound engineer!

  • your videos are well usefull,i didn't really understand the potential of audacity till your videos.the song sounds good too.

  • I have to agree an excellent set of videos, you make it all look so easy lol

  • Very few people would attempt to recreate such a complex song. You have done an excellent job with it. Obviously, you know Audacity incredibly well. I know that I'll be coming back to your videos for reference often, as I am new to Audacity. I'm sure that others beside myself have gained much inspiration from your efforts, I thank you very much!
