Things didn't exactly got to plan this time.... Ian who drives, got led astray in the beer tent on the Sunday night and hence was VERY hungover come the big day. Ian's found that one of the great advantages of an open face helmet is that if you throw up while wearing it you don't drown in your own vomit.
All this was for nothing because if you look carefully you'll notice that big amber light above the steering wheel, which is for oil pressure, stays lit for most of the run.....If only we had. The engine develops a bit of a tapping sound as the lap progresses and eventually the old £50 3.5l lump that was found round the back of a shed some 8years ago, gives out and we limp off the track. The trusty old lump still had enough life let in in to let us drive out of the course and drive the motor back on the trailer, farwell faithful old friend you did us proud!!

  • I think they did the best with the land they got and it would of been OK if the weather had been a little better, problem was it was always going to turn into a bit of a traffic jam with the weather, that many motors and not many places to overtake. Personnally I really like tight difficult courses through woods, It's more in keeping with the type of comps we used to do, before everyone put 4.6l engines in and started trying to break the land speed record across stubble fields!

  • Nice reaction at the first caution boards :)Went round as navigator got our 2 laps & 1 re-run. Hat's off to the team that ran the comp. They did what they could with the ground. We walked the course on Saturday and you could see the amount of work that had gone into making the route. Shame about the rain

  • i went!!!! was ace!!!

  • shame the motor let go, you look like you where going well.

what did you think of the course?
