A few laps around the pattern at John Wayne Airport, memorial day weekend 2009. Finally got the camera set up right so it recorded the ATC communications- Had to take the battery out of the cell phone adapter which is plugged into the camera, and plugged the whole thing into the copilot headset jack.

  • Your coms with ATC sure sounds like your a seasoned 30yr airline captain! Some studants could learn from you! Like -"Don't speak unless spoken too" and copy back transmission for clarity, Saw your post on LIVE ATC , NET had to come see. ya. great video.

    I'm left base for 22..

  • Hey thanks! I'm actually a student myself... about 25 hours in. I think that was my forth or fifth solo in the pattern. I know what you mean though... your ATC coms have to be bullet proof before they'll let you solo as a student at SNA - for good reason!

  • Saw your post on LiveATC and thought I'd reply. I'm a student as well, based out of KBTF, flying 172's. The Katana looks like such a fun plane to fly, I wish I could get my hands on one. I should be soloing within a few days - hopefully I'll be able to get a vid and share. Great video, and the coms are always a plus!
