US economic system outdated

The Latest Census numbers prove the United States has the biggest gap between rich and poor compared to all other westernized countries. 1 in 7 Americans are now living below the poverty line and many are wondering is there anything the United States can learn from this? Max Fraad Wolff says that if you are not already in the top ten percent of the economy it is going to be extremely difficult to get in there.

The issue should be about brining back manufacturing jobs to america. The survival of our country depends on manufacturing. We need to significantly increase exports of agricultral goods, All forms of Mining for example coal, nickle, copper, zinc, platnium, silver, and so on. We have the innovation and technology to do so. and we need leadership in Wash. to get us back on track. Unfortunatley this administration has only talked socialism. We don't need a hand out we need real jobs!!!!

That's true, which is why manufacturing subsidies usually don't work as well as just some general, moderate tariffs on key industries that attract lots of consumer spending. If we had general tariffs, business owners would have to manufacture goods that people want and need here to really benefit.

Automobiles, automobile parts, and electronics would be the biggest three.
